Students interested in enrolling into the Paramedic Program must complete the folloing prior to acceptance to the program. The requirements must be completed and documentation provided to the EMS Academy prior to the start date of the program. The following are the entrance requirements:
a. Complete and submit program application (available in course documents).
b. Complete and submit two letters of recommendation (available in course documents).
c. Submit a two-page essay describing why you are interested in EMS.
d. Submit a copy of your current State of Ohio EMT-Basic Certificate and a current copy of your AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card.
e. Proof of a valid Drivers License.
f. Provide copy of high school diploma or GED.
g. Complete the TABE test.
Once you have been accepted into the program these items will be addressed on the Orientation Night of the course:
h. Complete a physical examination by a licensed physician certifying wellness and the absence of physical restriction.
i. Provide evidence of current MMR immunizations.
j. Provide evidence of a current 2-stepTB test (within three months).
k. Successful completion of a Drug Screening / Background Criminal Investigation (BCI)
The tuition for the EMT-Paramedic Program is $4,500.00. Tuition includes the cost of the text, student workbook, ACLS/BTLS certification, access to the student text library, Blackboard access, student polo shirt, liability insurance, clinical and lab fees.
Tuition is due by the first day of the program.
Students with additional financial assistance needs should contact the EMS Academy for further arrangements. The only additional student cost will be the $110.00 fee for sitting for the National Registry upon program completion.
