Pediatric Advanced Life Support

 

 

 

Audience: Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Physicians, and Respiratory Therapists
Objectives: At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
  1. List the components of rapid Cardiopulmonary Assessment leading recognition of respiratory distress/failure and shock.
  2. Perform the steps of recognition classification and management of arrhythmias.
  3. Demonstrate the use of an AED.
  4. Demonstrate the advanced life support skills needed for resuscitation of the critically ill and injured children.
  5. Describe the needs specific healthcare workers will utilize in specialized pediatric settings.
  6. Integrate cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills to assess and treat infants and children who require advanced life support.
Prerequisites:  
Total Sessions: Two 8-hour sessions totalling 16hrs
