This continuing education course will take the student through an entire hands on anatomy and physiology review, utilizing a pig heart, lung, and trachea. After the review the student will be able to insert an endotracheal tube into the actual lab specimen and ventilate the lungs. The student will be able to witness ventilation and respiration as the pig's lungs begin to inflate and turn from reddish blue to a pink oxygenated color.

Advanced Airways Procedures |
Traumatic respiratory emergencies will be reviewed; following the review the student will have the opportunity to view a pulmonary contusion and a tension pneumothrorax. Following the conclusion of the traumatic injuries review the student will have the opportunity to attempt advance airway procedures with the lab specimen. The final portion of the lab consists of dissection of the entire specimen.
